Kelly Jowett Art
Artist, entomologist, and science communicator
Hey, if you made it to the about me blurb, thanks for your interest!
I suppose to the casual observer, I have a lot of talents and interests - but I would say all of the worlds that I inhabit have roots in my curiosity about the world and a creative spirit.
I love to look at the little details that many people miss, and the patterns that link everything together. Art is something that is born naturally from that process - wanting others to see the beauty and complexity all around us.
I was classically trained as a young person by a local artist, and largely picked up techniques along the way. I have a variety of styles and mediums, but I’d say my favourite will always be pencils - there’s just something about nailing every last detail that makes my heart sing!
There are way too many interesting things in the world for me to stick at art full time, so I most of my time in research and science communication, and some of my time helping other people. I have four invisible disabilities, but I still manage to do some awesome things, and give others the confidence to push their boundaries too.
Science and helping people sadly are not all that lucrative though, so if you want to buy some stuff, that’d help muchly. Just sayin’ :)
